A studio craft sidechair by American craftsman Wharton Esherick (1887-1970). The chair is made of a carved wood frame with a brown leather seating.

The first version of this model was produced in 1938 in a number of forty pieces  for the Hedgerow Theater in Rose Valley, PA. The frame is made of hammer handles, giving the chair its name.
