Lounge Chairs

A pair of very rare and spectacular Finnish wingback lounge chairs from the late 1940s, attributed to Runar Engblom.

The wooden armrests are wrapped with a leather cord. The chairs have previously been reupholstered with a green alcantara.

The chairs were designed for and used in Hotel Vaakuna, Helsinki. The building was designed by architect Erkki Huttunen in 1947. Paavo Tynell designed the lighting of the hotel and Engblom did the furnishing.
