Stålhane, Carl-Harry

(1920 - 1990)

Carl-Harry Stålhane was one of the most famous Swedish ceramic designers. He began working at Rörstrand in 1939 as a decorative painter and stayed with the company for over three decades. When his teacher Gunnar Nylund left in 1955, he took over the position of artistic director. Stålhane left Rörstrand in 1973 and started his own ceramic company, Designhuset, where he experimented with local clays and minerals.
