Jeanneret, Pierre

(1896 - 1967)

Arnold-André-Pierre Jeanneret-Gris was a Swiss architect and designer. In 1922 he set up an architectural practice in Paris with his cousin Le Corbusier. The War ended their collaboration, but they teamed up again in 1950 for the design of the new city of Chandigarh, India. Le Corbusier designed a number of administrative buildings and the general layout of the city. Jeanneret also designed numerous buildings, as well as the furniture that was used. He was responsible for the execution of the project and, as a result, spent 15 years in India.
