A pair of garden/outdoor chairs by Swedish architect Gunnar Asplund (1885-1940). The chairs were designed in 1930 and produced by Iwan B. Giertz, Flen, Sweden. The chairs are made of forged iron bars with a seating made of five ash slats and a similar slat is used as the backrest. Both chairs are labeled by Giertz. The model was designed for and exhibited at the Stockholm Exhibition in 1930. The chairs were used mainly at the Festplatsen and the press area, but also at the 'Ellida' restaurant.
